Tree Stumps Are Ugly
Have you ever heard somebody say… “Man, if I could just have a few more stumps in my yard, it would look great!” Stumps hurt the curb appeal and the value of your home.
Tree Stumps Can Be Dangerous
If you hit a stump with your mower it’s not going to be pretty. It’s going to ruin your blade or worse. Also children, neighbors, friends, and visitors could trip on the stump(s) and create a liability concern for you.
Insects Are Attracted to Decaying Stumps
Decaying stumps can attract carpenter ants, wood boring beetles, termites and other pests. Stumps near other living trees or structures can fall victim to the pests attracted by the decaying stumps. If you get termites in your house it will cost you a bunch more than removing a stump would cost you.
Growths On Fresh Stumps Bother You In a Number of Ways
Weeds and growths on a fresh stump are unsightly and when some trees are cut just above your lawn’s grade you could spend time and money cutting down the suckers that grow from them. You will have to spray the growths with herbicides continually or the growths will steal nutrients from other nearby plants. If the growths are left to grow, they will become unsightly bushes.
Stumps Harbor Disease
Especially trees that were cut down because they were diseased in the first place. These diseases will then spread throughout your lawn and landscaping over time.
